With Caribou’s extensive experience in helping customers quickly and efficiently get their IoT product to market, we wanted to create an interactive live site that demonstrates our capabilities and allows customers and partners to evaluate our technology.

What The Site Does

It an air quality monitoring system that collects data from a variety of sensor modules, processes it at the edge, and displays it in the cloud.

How It Works

Sensor Devices

We have used the following “MKROE CLICK” Click boards for the Air-Quality-2, Air-Quality-5, CO2 and Pressure-15 sensor's components:

Air quality 2 Click:

  •    Measures Resistance and Volatile organic compounds.
  •    Sensor Information Can be Found Here

Air quality 5 Click:

  •    Measures NO2, NH3 and CO.
  •    Sensor Information Can be Found Here

CO2 Click:

  •    Measures Temperature and CO2concentration.
  •    Sensor Information Can be Found Here

Pressure 15 Click:

  •    Measures Pressure.

In the first version of the platform, sensors are restricted to the click boards we have certified. In the future, we will expand the platform capabilities to allow users to add their own sensors.

Edge Gateway

Our IoT platform components are written in Python and run on any Linux-based computer board in addition to Caribou’s edge gateway hardware. The sensor data is processed locally on the gateway, streamlining the information uploaded to the cloud. The gateway continually monitors the sensor data, analyzing the information stream for any signs of abnormal behavior. The local AI processing of the sensor data ensures rapid alerting of anomalous air quality situations in addition to compressing the local data to ensure efficient use of cellular network bandwidth.

Cloud Portal

Sensor data and alerts are displayed on our cloud portal. By logging into the portal, users will be able to:
  1. Review logged sensor data.
  2. Set and monitor alert conditions where poor air quality has been identified.
