Position Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Software QA Tester to develop test methodology and define test cases necessary for testing our various client projects to ensure high product quality.

As Senior Software QA Tester, you will be part of our QA team and your primary responsibility will be to test the assigned application(s) as per the company’s defined test guidelines and procedures, prepare test reports and log issues found. As you gain a deeper understanding of our application(s) and procedures, you may be asked to participate in debugging and/or defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts).

The Senior Software QA Tester role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be a fast learner, detail oriented and love working with complex software applications. He or she has the ability to spot issues in software, UI or UX flow and is not afraid to be critical for the benefit of improving the application and user experience. We are seeking a candidate who can join us on a freelance contract on an hourly basis with the option to convert to a full-time role at a mutually convenient time.

Position Responsibilities:

• Test assigned applications based on company’s test plan, procedures test routines
• Identify and record/log issues found and prepare test reports
• Provide necessary help to developers to fix issues identified
• Monitor debugging process results and perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Review test plan, test procedures and other test documentation and provide feedback for improvements
• Review application requirements, specifications and other technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Estimate, plan, prioritize and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Help develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needsv
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Mentor, train and/or provide help to colleagues in your team
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Job Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Proven work experience in software testing
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test reports
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Experience with Jira
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
